Biography

Sevil Yücel received a B.S. in 1987, and M.S. from İstanbul Technical University, both in chemical engineering. She received her Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Istanbul Technical University in 1999. She was a postdoc fellow at the Department of Food Science, University of Arkansas in USA. From 1991 to 2006 she studied at Istanbul Technical University. Dr. Yücel moved in 2006 to the Department of Bioengineering at the Yildiz Technical University where he currently holds the position of Professor. She is advisory board member of Turkish Lipid Group. Dr. Yücel has many research papers published in SCI indexed journals and by the international indexed journals, book chapters and international meetings

Her research areas are edible oil; adsorption and desorption processes; ultrasound and microwave assisted esterification; biomaterials; production and purification of value-added bioproducts (such as enzymes, and antioxidants); biodiesel; microalgae; edible oil refining; functional lipids
